Thomas Muir, LCSW, LISW
Online therapy for adults, veterans, and active-duty service members
I work with adults who are curious about themselves and ready to take an active role in therapy. My approach is down-to-earth, honest, supportive, and practical. I help people experiencing PTSD and trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.
WHO I WORK WITH
Painful experiences can continue to affect how you think, feel, relate to others, and move through daily life. You may know something needs to change but feel unsure where to begin. You do not need a perfect explanation—you only need to be willing to start.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Trauma and PTSD · Generalized and social anxiety · Depression and bipolar disorder · OCD and intrusive thoughts · Adult ADHD · Relationships and life transitions · Active-duty military members and veterans
MY APPROACH
Therapy with me is collaborative and active. We will explore the experiences and patterns influencing your life, identify practical tools, and work toward realistic, meaningful changes. I will support you throughout the process while also encouraging you to stay engaged in the work.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
I began my career as a Navy Corpsman, gaining experience in psychiatric nursing and a firsthand understanding of military life. I earned my undergraduate degree in secondary education and my Master of Social Work from Arizona State University. My background includes community mental health, crisis care, hospice, homelessness services, acute mental health programs, and individual psychotherapy.
